Also called bell pepper, chili pepper, cayenne pepper, sweet pepper, or paprika, organic capsicum originated from Mexico and Central America. Its cultivation is said to have been spread worldwide by voyagers in the 17th century. Like the other pepper, capsicum is not even remotely close to being spicy. This is because the organic green capsicum does not contain the compound 'capsaicin' which is responsible for all that spice equivalent to the hotness of the sun! Capsicums are also named as per color like green pepper, red pepper, yellow pepper, etc. It's the same plant but with the fruits at different ripening stages.
